Drumnod Cottages are situated on a large, privately owned country Estate in the Kingdom of Fife, near Cupar and St. Andrews. They are two idyllic ?roses-round-the-door? semi-detached farm cottages which command superb views over the valley. They stand in their own private gardens (swings and sandpit), ideal for children and pets, with woodland and farm walks right on the doorstep.
The cottages are centrally heated, comfortable and very well appointed, with a sitting room with log fire, kitchen/dining area, bathroom with shower and twin and family bedrooms. Each sleeping five, they are ideal for two families holidaying together, or as an alternative to a larger property for bigger groups.
The Estate is ideally situated for exploring the Fife coast, with its pretty fishing villages and beaches, and of course, the historic university town of St Andrews (12m). The bustling little town of Cupar (5m) has all facilities, in particular some interesting shops, and guests can take the train from there to Edinburgh across the Forth Bridge, or Dundee, the gateway to the Angus glens, which is only 9 miles away across the Tay Bridge. Perth (23m) and points north into the Highlands are also easily accessible for a day excursion.
On the Estate itself, guests can enjoy fishing (by permit) rough shooting, tennis, a signed Nature Trail and agate hunting. There are many superb beaches in the area, notably at St. Andrews and the lesser known Tentsmuir Forest (9m).
Meals on arrival, a cooking service, baby-sitting facilities and a centralised laundry service are also offered.
Each cottage has a telephone. Pets are welcome. Heating is through electric night store heaters
