West Rigg is one of three traditional stone-built terraced farm cottages (the others are Middlewell and East o' Eden) situated on the Nydie Mains Farm Estate just five minutes drive from historic St. Andrews in Fife. It is set on a quiet country road in an area of pretty woodland and has glorious views over the Eden River estuary, St Andrews and the West Sands. There is a large enclosed garden (swings, sand pit) which is shared with the other two cottages, making them ideal for families wishing to holiday together or for larger groups.
West Rigg is comfortably furnished and extremely well-appointed and there is ample parking. The Estate offers many delightful woodland and river walks, and has a private stretch of the Eden River, for which fishing permits are available. Visitors will enjoy exploring St. Andrews, (Sea Life Centre, cinema, all facilities) which is steeped in history and has an atmosphere all its own, and the quaint fishing villages of the East Neuk ( small corner) of Fife, and, of course, it is always possible to have the odd game of golf on one of the region's many courses! There are sandy beaches, wonderful scenery, and it is easy to venture further afield to Edinburgh (45m), Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, Dundee (12m), and the Highlands and Royal Deeside beyond, all of which are well within a day's drive.
Heating is through electric night store heaters. Pets are welcome.
