This stylish, contemporary apartment is completely self-contained with its own parking and entrance and really has the wow factor from the moment you step inside. It occupies the entire ground floor of the house and offers incredibly spacious accommodation extending to over 2,000 square feet in total.
The apartment has been extensively refurbished and is very light and airy with wonderful views of Loch Long to be enjoyed throughout. The sitting room in particular is comfy and cosy with a window seat to further admire the views from. At the centre of the apartment the vast kitchen/dining room has a huge, six ring gas and electric range at its heart for cooking up a storm and a spacious dining area alongside. A large bay window to the front brightens the room and comes complete with a telescope so you can keep an eye out for wildlife in the garden and out on the loch.
The bedrooms all lie off a central hallway with the luxurious master double bedroom (king-size) having an en suite shower room as well as the added bonus of a large walk-in wardrobe. There are also two further attractive double bedrooms (one king-size) that share a modern family bathroom and all the bedrooms have their own TVs so all viewing tastes can be catered for.
The house is set back from the quiet road that runs around the shore of the loch with a pretty terrace area and stone steps leading down to a large grassed garden area. There is plenty of parking right by the door and the terrace (with furniture) is the perfect place to sit and admire the wonderful views across the lawn to the boats bobbing away on the loch.
The Rosneath peninsula is easily reached by ferry over from Gourock (north west of Glasgow), arriving into Kilcreggan (2 miles) and taking only 15 minutes. For a more scenic route you can cross the Erskine Bridge from Glasgow and follow the road up around beautiful Loch Lomond and on to Loch Long.
The village shop is just 5 minutes’ walk away from the apartment and the beautiful Linn Botanic Gardens at the head of Cove Bay are also within easy walking distance just along the shingle beach coastline.
Loch Long certainly lives up to its name being 20 miles long and as it is 30 metres deep in places it is very popular with scuba divers. There is good fishing from the shores and boats can be hired at Ardgarten (20 miles) for fishing trips further out on the loch.
On the other side of the Gare Loch are the coastal idylls of Rhu (15.5 miles) with its pretty marina (where moorings are available) and Helensburgh (17 miles). Helensburgh has a range of cafés and restaurants and an excellent fish and chip shop and is also the place to stock up on supermarket supplies. Whilst there it is well worth taking the time to visit Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House that he originally designed and which now houses fine examples of his distinctive design work.
Shandon Country Pursuits (13 miles) offers clay pigeon shooting, archery, pony trekking and the chance to try some off road driving over some pretty rough, muddy terrain. The many attractions and outdoor activities of the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park are also in very easy reach for day trips.
