In a peaceful setting on a 710 acre farm estate in the heart of the beautiful Perthshire countryside, just 6 miles from the Fair City itself, Cairnies Cottage is one of a tiny  group of  erstwhile farm-workers' cottages now converted to provide very comfortable 4-star holiday accommodation.

Cairnies Cottage provides versatile accommodation for small parties,  having a double bedroom and a further bedroom with a single bed, a well-equipped kitchen and a pleasant and cosy sitting room.  Double glazed and with electric heating, it is a snug haven at all times of the year.  From the windows there are sweeping views across the mellow surrounding farmland.  It has its own private south and west  facing sun terrace which looks across the garden and beyond to the mountains behind Crieff.

The surrounding acres of the farm offer ample scope for short walks and picnic spots.   There is bird watching at Methven Moss, rough and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged, and the estate also has a riding school, a show jumping course  and a superb cross country course.  Stabling is available and guests may bring their own horses with them by arrangement.

The village of Methven (1m) offers basic shops and a pub, while Perth itself has all facilities, leisure centres, ice rink, and a wealth of excellent restaurants, shops etc.  In the other direction, Crieff (8m) is a bustling little town, also with good facilities, tennis courts in the McCrostie Park and a fine golf course.

One of the huge advantages of this area is its accessibility.  Just an hour's drive from Edinburgh, scarcely more from the east coast, St Andrews etc., you can still reach Oban and the west in about two hours.  Or head north for Pitlochry, Blair Atholl and Aberfeldy.  One of the loveliest ways of doing this is through the Sma' Glen, accessed from Gilmerton, just before you come to Crieff.  Picnicking in the Glen on a hot summer's day, watching the kids play in the burn, must be one of the best stress-busting  (non) activities of all time!

Thus catering both for those who want to be active and those who want to just chill, Cairnies Cottage is an ideal choice for couples and families alike.

Electricity, bed linen and towels are INCLUDED.  Well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement.
