Croftmoraig, situated on the 4,000 acre Bolfracks Estate just a couple of miles from Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire, is an attractive detached Farmhouse, on a working Farm, which stands in an extensive grassed garden in the midst of some of Scotland's most beautiful countryside. However, it is not the view of the surrounding hills which first catches the eye of the visitor, but the fact that just in front of the house are some magnificent prehistoric standing stones!
The house itself is modern, spacious and comfortable, with a Rayburn in the kitchen and an open fire in the sitting room to augment the electric night store heaters.
At Croftmoraig, you have some excellent walking on the Estate right on the doorstep, while more determined walkers may like to attempt Schiehallion, Ben Lawers or Ben Vrackie. The famous salmon river of the Tay is just across the road and down the hill; the Estate has a private beat where salmon fishing can be arranged at extra cost (trout fishing is free). Loch Tay, with its water sports, is also just 4 miles down the road. Aberfeldy is a pretty little town, with golf course, many hotels and eating places, and an interesting selection of shops. Picturesque Kenmore, in the other direction, also has an excellent golf course with reduced green fees for tenants. You are well placed for Pitlochry (16m, all facilities), well known for its excellent Festival Theatre which boasts that you can 'stay six days and see six plays'. To the north, you are within easy reach of the A9, which will speed you north to Aviemore, the Cairngorms and Inverness. There is so much to see and do in the immediate vicinity of Croftmoraig, however, that you may well have to defer travelling further afield to a future visit!
Heating is by electricity, payable by meter reading, and open fire (logs INCLUDED). Bed linen and towels are INCLUDED. One well-behaved pet is welcome by arrangement but must be kept under strict control on the Estate. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
