Most conveniently situated just a couple of miles west of the A9 Perth-Inverness trunk road, Carpenter's Cottage has a tranquil position just off a quiet lane near Strathtay, just 8 miles from Pitlochry in beautiful Highland Perthshire.

It is a sweet little terraced cottage which would once have belonged to an estate worker (doubtless the eponymous carpenter) which has now been lovingly and carefully refurbished. Its external 'chocolate box' facade belies the most comfortable, bright, spacious and remarkably chic accommodation within.
From the off road parking at the end of the row of cottages, a little path leads along the front of the houses where Carpenter's looks out across its own fully enclosed and south-facing grass garden (with furniture and BBQ). It is peaceful and secluded and just perfect for children playing, or for relaxing hours in the sunshine.
Inside, the cottage offers the very best of both worlds – it offers every modern comfort while still retaining many of its traditional features. The sitting room is very light and airy and is most comfortably furnished, with the stove set in a recessed, natural stone fireplace. By day, the room is bright and cheerful, while at night the wall lights create a really cosy ambience.
The spacious dining kitchen is well-fitted with smart modern units and traditional twin Belfast sinks. The downstairs bathroom is fully panelled and there is a smart modern bath with side taps.
Upstairs are the two charming bedrooms. One of the most striking features in these is the white-painted, original floorboards, which complement the furniture and the painted, latched doors. Both are very inviting rooms, the light décor in each offset by strong colours in the detail.
Carpenter’s Cottage has been created with great care and love and is a most peaceful and romantic retreat for two people, while providing spacious and cosy accommodation for four if escaping alone proves impossible!
This is a truly delightful part of the world, accessible yet hugely scenic. Pitlochry (with its famous Festival Theatre) to the north and Dunkeld to the south are both very popular tourist centres.
To the west are Aberfeldy (all facilities, distillery and leisure centre) and lovely Loch Tay, which is famous for its water sports and for the restored Iron Age Crannog in the loch. The mountain grandeur of Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch are also within easy distance.
Not far from the cottage, climbers have the choice of Ben Vrackie or Schiehallion and can also be in the heart of the Cairngorms in an hour. Grandtully (2 miles, with cafe and shop) is well known for its white water kayaking, while the neighbouring village of Strathtay has a golf course.
Fishermen have the Tay more or less on the doorstep, while those in search of urban bustle, good shops and concerts will find their needs well catered for in Perth.
