This attractive modern cottage has an enviable situation just 200 yards from Loch Tay, near Kenmore  in Highland Perthshire.  It stands, detached, among woodland beside the path to the Falls of Acharn and has its own garden with decking area and barbecue.

The owners have taken great pride in its refurbishment, with a comfortable sitting room, very well fitted kitchen and two bedrooms.  In addition there is a conservatory to the rear of the property, which overlooks the stream there.  It is all very tranquil and peaceful.

The area round Loch Tay is a very popular holiday destination.  Kenmore, at the head of the loch, is one of Scotland's prettiest villages, with hotel, café and a couple of shops.  It also has a thriving marina, for the loch is a major centre for water sports of all kinds.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy the Crannog Centre, a reconstructed iron age hut on stilts in the loch where you can try your hand at all sorts of iron age crafts.

The area is rich in wildlife and there are many excellent walks which can be enjoyed from the cottage.  Those seeking a greater challenge can climb Schiehallion or Ben Lawers.  The 4,000 year old yew tree in the churchyard at Fortingall is also worth seeing, especially when you consider that it was well into middle age when Pontius Pilate, said to have been born there, was a boy!

The Tay, which flows into the loch at Kenmore, is famous for its fishing and the stretch beyond Aberfeldy (6m, all facilities) is a premier site for kayaking and white water enthusiasts.  From there, too, you can quickly reach the A9 for easy access to the Cairngorms, Aviemore and even Inverness.  Pitlochry, an excellent tourist centre with its Theatre in the Hills, is just 22 miles distant.

Heating is by oil CH (INCLUDED).  Bed  linen, towels and electricity are INCLUDED.  Sorry no pets and smoking is not permitted in the cottage.

Terrific accommodation in truly beautiful area. After a few days of continuous heavy rain the falls were really spectacular. Wonderful welcome and the wine was a lovely touch - we did enjoy it! We will all be more than happy to make a return visit.

We have had a fantastic two weeks here in Falls Cottage. The scenery and setting are perfect, the cottage a home-away-from-home and an area with lots to see and do. We will certainly be back - two weeks is not enough. Thank you for your welcome & attention to detail. We are going home relaxed & refreshed.

Thank you for letting your beautiful cottage. We had a very relaxing week here; enjoying the scenery, climbing up the falls, finding the stone circle. Anyway we hope to come back - maybe next year.

We've had a lovely stay in Falls Cottage. Great location for walks and wildlife. There have been lovely breakfast moments and coffee times spent on the decking birdwatching and chatting. Lovely house, lovely company and lovely holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in such a lovely cottage. Plenty of places to see and things to do even when the weather was not so good. Acharn Falls are well worth a visit as well as the Falls of Bruar, Dunkeld and Pitlochry.

We have had a very relaxing week in Falls Cottage. Fantastic cottage, very comfortable, warm and very clean. Enjoyed some beautiful walks - Falls of Acharn and the Birks to name just two. Spotted woodpeckers and amazing wildlife at Loch of the Lowes. One week just not long enough!

Ross Party, Buckinghamshire 12/09/2010

We have had a lovely holiday. The cottage is very comfortable and well-equipped - an ideal resting place after some spectacular walks. The walk behind the house is a must, but with so much to choose from in the area we could easily have stayed for longer. Many thanks.

Had wonderful week here at Falls Cottage. Even a red squirrel visited the garden. A beautiful part of Scotland made even more special by the snowfall. Thank you for a warm welcome and for the bottle of wine which was enjoyed with an evening meal. Hope to visit again soon.

We have had a wonderful week here in Falls Cottage. We have enjoyed the walks in the area. Acharn Falls is a must to see - beautiful. The cottage was very comfortable and clean and the area is outstanding. We have felt very blessed this week. Thank you for the bottle of wine which we enjoyed on the decking.

Rob and Linda, Isle of Wight 15/05/2011

We've had a great week in this lovely cottage. Weather has been very kind, with the rain during the night, except for yesterday. Ben Lawers is a tough but rewarding walk - especially when a heavy shower comes in - nowhere to hide up there! Crannog Centre well worth a visit.

Derwyn and Lora, North Wales 29/05/2011

Wonderful week at Loch Tay. Red squirrel in tree opposite conservatory, hedgehog in back garden. Not enough time to see everything. Cottage very comfortable, warm and very clean. Great location. Looking forward to seeing you again next year. Thanks for everything.

Kath and Terry, Manchester 19/06/2011

We've had a great week here with only one day of rain. Saw a red squirrel on the patio on our first day. Visited lots of lovely places. we've enjoyed just sitting watching the stream go by too and have been very comfortable and cosy in this beautiful clean cottage with everything you'd need for a relaxed holiday.

Stalker party, Banff 10/07/2011

We have had a superb holiday at Falls Cottage and would like to thank the owners for providing such a lovely holiday home. It is very comfortable and beautifully situated. we have travelled not too far as there is so much on the doorstep. The falls were wonderful particularly with the amount of rain that has fallen. We will have no hesitation in returning to Falls Cottage.

Bennett party, West Midlands 07/08/2011

Wonderful accommodation in a quite superb setting! We have truly fallen love with Kenmore and Loch Tay. A week simply isn't long enough! Overall we have had a brilliant holiday, taking home lots of Dewars Whisky (had a great day at the distillery in Aberfeldy). Can't wait to return and discover more of beautiful Scotland. Thank you so much.

Bannister family, Leeds 22/08/2011

We have had a wonderful stay at Falls Cottage this week. We enjoyed the walk to the falls and it is amazing. We also recommend the hydroelectric power station in Pitlochry. But most of all we recommend relaxing in the peace and quiet of Falls Cottage.

Austen party, Edinburgh 06/09/2011

Lovely cottage, fantastic location, fully equipped for all our needs. Excellent place to relax, helped by the river outside as well as the wildlife. saw a couple of cheeky red squirrels and a heron which landed on the decking outside. Great location for visiting surrounding areas, Kenmore, Aberfeldy and Pitlochry. Thank you for a great time.

Cook party, Essex 09/10/2011

Perfect location and cottage for all our needs. Had an awesome week. Climbed Schiehallion. Mountain biked our way around Dull and surrounding hills (well worth the effort for the views at the top!) Did a "drop at the top" with Highland safari, again on our bikes and not forgetting the gorgeous Falls of Acharn walk on our doorstep. Cottage made such a welcome retreat at the end of fun filled, adventure packed days. Lovely to stay somewhere where so much care and attention for all the little things you need to make your stay comfortable and hassle free are thought of. Thank you.
