Fordyce, near BanffGuest Rating

As its name suggests, the cottage stands right beside the little arched bridge over the stream which flows just over the wall from its quiet and peaceful 'sun-trap' of a garden.
A classic 'chocolate box' cottage on the outside, inside the cottage has been renovated to the highest 21st century standards and styled with many romantic touches. The attractive, beamed ceiling living area has a lovely exposed stone wall round the fireplace which houses a cosy wood-burning stove, there is a small dining area and a door which leads out to a small raised deck and steps down to the garden.
Also on this level is a modern and well equipped kitchen, a small utility room and a spacious and stylishly designed wet room with shower, WC and wash hand basin. Stairs from the living area lead downstairs to a tastefully furnished double bedroom.
Fordyce, a conservation village, is situated a short distance inland between the historic fishing towns of Portsoy and Banff with its spectacular Moray Firth coastline on Scotland's beautiful North East coast.
Famed for its long beautiful sandy beaches, majestic cliffs and secluded coves, the area offers many visitor attractions such as the Speyside Whisky Trail with all its distilleries and countless historical sites but is still within easy travelling distance of the popular tourist destinations of Aberdeen (55 miles), Inverness (65 miles) and Elgin (26 miles).
Nearby Portsoy (3 miles) is delightful to wander round and centres round a picturesque harbour which is an ideal spot to sit and watch the boats coming and going. Every summer the village plays host to a famous boat festival that draws in visitors from miles around for a weekend of maritime fun, local food and traditional music and dance.
The surrounding area is no less attractive, with miles of woodland paths to explore and easy access to the sunny coast where there are a variety of sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages, excellent golf courses and many other leisure facilities.
