Standing in a third of an acre of garden, and situated on a quiet road just outside the little village of Knockando near Aberlour in Moray,  Milton Cottage is a typical Highland but 'n' ben, its traditional exterior belying the 21st century comfort of its internal conversion.

Within its thick stone walls you will be snug as toast.  In addition to the cosy sitting room, with its wood burning stove and beamed ceiling, there is a new and very well-fitted kitchen-diner, a double bedroom and bathroom.  Outside, there is lots of room to sit and contemplate the lovely open view across Strathspey and away to Ben Rinnes, the nearest peak.

For, yes, here you are in Strathspey, with all that that means in terms of whisky distilleries, fishing, walking, and glorious scenery.  Fishing, stalking and shooting can be arranged on the neighbouring estate.  The Cardhu distillery is just down the road, with Glen Grant, Glenfiddich and Balvenie only a short drive away.  Local whisky festivals are held over the last weekend in April and the last full week in September  The Speyside Way with its rich mixture of river and heather hills, can be joined within walking distance of the cottage, and you can strike out in both directions, either south west to Ballindalloch or north east towards Aberlour and Craigellachie.

For a change of scene, you can also be on the sunny Moray Coast within the hour, walking along the lovely sandy beaches and looking out for the dolphins and Minke whales which can often be seen there.  For winter sports, you are well placed  for the Lecht Ski area, or even the Cairngorm at Aviemore.

The nearest shops, hotels etc are at Aberlour (7m).  Heating is by electricity (first £20 INCLUDED) and woodburning stove.  Bed linen and towels are INCLUDED in the rental.   Sorry, pets are not accepted and smoking is not permitted within the cottage.  There is an i-Pod/i-Phone dock.
