Billie Grant's Old Croft is near Kingussie on Killiehuntly Farm (see Killiehuntly Cottage) - a very old, small, detached stone croft-cottage of the Victorian era which has the 3ft thick walls and red corrugated roof of its period. Now single-storey, its large wood-lined well-lagged attic (which once slept a family of nine children in 'the good old days') has been shut off, but provides excellent insulation and protection against possible winter snows - for this is the Cairngorm Mountains area.
A small conservatory and modern equipment have been added to this original building, and it stands in its own fenced garden, at the entrance to the farm, with marvellous views out across miles of countryside to the distant hills.
Heating is by coal-burning stove and electric convector-heaters. Bed-linen and towels are included. Pets are welcome. All beds have electric blankets.
