Few houses have such a magnificent situation as Leiter Fearn, on the Aberchalder Estate, with its commanding position above the Caledonian Canal and Loch Oich, between Inverness and Fort William in Scotland's incomparable Great Glen.
Set in its large, enclosed garden, with views of the boats passing through the canal lock below you and sailing off down the loch, this substantial, detached Victorian farmhouse has been completely refurbished and offers spacious and most comfortable accommodation, with farmhouse kitchen, separate dining room, cosy sitting room with wood burner, utility room, boot room etc. Upstairs, the four excellent bedrooms are each in their own little 'suite' with adjoining bath or shower room.
Reached by a short track and well away from the road, Leiter Fearn is ideal for families, walkers - guests are welcome to walk on the Estate's two miles of loch frontage - and wildlife enthusiasts, while the estate offers clay pigeon shooting and fishing and stalking in season. Loch Ness is a short distance to the north and you are also near the junction where fast roads cut off to the north-west and Skye (54m), which is easily accessible for a day trip.
The Great Glen Way offers excellent cycling while down towards Fort William (28m) Aonach Mor offers ski-ing in winter and world championship mountain biking trails at other seasons. Why not pop up Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, while you're there?
Bed linen, towels, electricity and oil-CH are INCLUDED. Pets are welcome by arrangement but should be confined to the kitchen. Smoking is not permitted in the farmhouse.
