Polgarrie is a lovely spacious farmhouse which has been extensively upgraded and offers comfortable accommodation - the type of house we would all like to own - which is ideal for a small group or family who want to escape the pace of modern life without sacrificing all the convenience that normally goes with it.

It is about one hour's drive north of Inverness, 7 miles from Tain (all facilities), 10 miles from the village of Ardgay (pub, shop, railway-halt), and about 2 miles from the A836 at the end of a mile of private farm track that peters out just beyond the house.

It is hidden from public view, facing south and stands detached, completely on its own in its own enclosed grass garden and grounds, offering complete privacy without total isolation. Polgarrie enjoys spectacular views over the surrounding fields and hills of the Dornoch Firth at a point where the farmland gives way to the rolling heather-covered hills that are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. There have been regular sightings of ospreys, falcons, buzzards - even a Golden Eagle - and deer are frequently seen grabbing breakfast or supper much to the delight of unsuspecting tenants.

Golfers can try the Championship Course at Royal Dornoch only 12 miles away and/or the famous Carnegie Club further north. The local course at Bonar Bridge is less challenging but only 10 miles away. Salmon or sea trout fishing is available along 15 miles of estuary (permit required) and there is excellent walking straight from the door. Loch Ness is just one hour's drive away, while to the north and west visitors can enjoy breathtaking drives to Ullapool, Lochinver and the north-west Coast as well as to Caithness and even John O'Groats.

Heating is by oil-CH (INCLUDED) and open-fire (coal INCLUDED). Electricity, Bed-linen and towels are all INCLUDED. One pet is welcome under strict control.
