Finding it hard to leave this true Cottage of character, which has been tastefully decorated to provide first class accomodation in an ideal location, off the beaten track in South West Scotland.

Have found the map/walks very useful and have used many of the previous suggestions for days out. We definitely recommend the drive through Dalveen pass!

Thanks for the lovely welcome - wine and tea tray ready, and especially the wonderful roses. The cottage is lovely and the stove gives out so much heat - the dogs loved lying in front of it. We will certainly be back !

We had the most relaxing week here at River Cottage. It's so cosy, like a home away from home. It was lovely hearing the river every time we stepped outside. We would both come back to River Cottage in the future.

Visited River Cottage for a week of rest and relaxation and was not disappointed! The cottage is beautiful and ideally located which made for a perfect week. The greeting on arrival was very personal and set a welcoming tone. I fully intend returning in the future for another faultless week.

Thanks for the great welcome. The cottage was very clean comfortable and warm. We had great fun using the fire and even made popcorn one evening! We particularly enjoyed Drumlanrig Castle - good bike trails and lots of other things to do. Also went to Wanlockhead and enjoyed a walk up Lowther Hill which had spectacular views. Thanks for a lovely break. Just what we needed.
