Those who want to 'get away from it all' in a beautiful, sublimely peaceful location without another house in sight, will find that  Arnsheen Farmhouse delivers just what they are looking for.  Standing quite high, with spectacular views  over the surrounding hills of the Galloway Forest Park, it is situated on the 1500-acre Drumlamford Estate in south west Scotland. some 12 miles north of the small market town of Newton Stewart (shops, hotels, good fishing, luxury mohair goods) and 5 miles south of Barrhill (shop, pub and small railway station).  It is reached by one mile of hard track from the quiet single-track B7027 public road and it offers a comfortable and delightful retreat for one or two families who want peace and seclusion.  Parents, children and pets alike will find its location quite irresistible.

The house itself is both spacious and beautifully appointed.  The large, comfortable sitting room has a wood burning stove to complement the oil-fired central heating and a striking mosaic floor.  There is a very spacious dining kitchen and a downstairs master bedroom with en suite shower.  There is a second shower room downstairs, while upstairs are three further bedrooms. one of which is a family room with double and single beds, and another bathroom.  The accommodation is thus very versatile and suitable for many party configurations.  Outside, there is extensive parking and an enclosed grass garden (furniture).

This area is celebrated the world over for its serene and gracious countryside which rises from the sandy coves and mudflat estuaries (marvellous for bird-watching and sailing) of the Solway Firth to the rolling farmlands, high green hills and hidden lochs of the hinterland.  Glen Trool, just down the road, offers many opportunities for walking and cycling amid glorious scenery.

Golfers can play many small country courses, with famous Turnberry some 20 miles up the coast.   While there, a visit to Culzean Castle is a must.  With its country park it provides an excellent day out for all the family.  Artists will want to paint, visit Kirkcudbright and admire the lovely gardens and mansions.  History buffs will be hard put to visit all the castles and sites (including the reputed cave of Robert The Bruce's famous spider) that remind us of this area's very bloody history.  Motor-racing fans may want to visit David Coulthard's village of Tywnholm - and some may fancy a day-trip to Ireland on the 'Jetliner' from Cairnryan.  From Ardrossan, you can also sail to Arran for the day.

Heating by wood-burning stove, oil-CH, electricity, bed-linen and towels are ALL INCLUDED.  Pets are welcome.
