Well known to serious mountaineers and hill walkers the world over, Torridon is a wild, rugged and spectacularly beautiful area to the west of Kinlochewe. With few roads or settlements it really is a place to get away from it all in truly amazing surroundings.
Cottage was well equipped clean and welcoming. Ideal for visiting fairly local attractions such as peterhead prison museum, very good. Maxduff aquarium all about fish in Moray Firth and Fraserburgh lighthouse museum. All were good value and the cottage was lovely to come back to after a day out. Also very handy for beach and walks.
Staff at unique efficient polite and friendly. No problems.
Beautifully sited cottage, with glorious walks all around. Immaculate and still very cosy. Large kitchen diner lounge particularly comfortable. TV and WiFi all in order. Ideally situated for towns of Aberfeldy and Killen and mountain views and walks.
Let me start by saying that the booking experience using the website, followed by a phone call to amend the booking was faultless.
The cottage itself had some character and also some quirks. We loved the size of the cottage (4 adults plus dog in our party), we made good use of the log burner (which we did need as the electric heating downstairs struggled a little with the January cold), the kitchen was well equipped, the armchairs comfortable and the bedrooms a reasonable size. The garden on the shoreline would be great in the summer.
Only 2 negatives really: the mattress in double bed was very uncomfortable and due to the low ceiling In the bathroom, anyone over 5' 8'' will struggle to use the shower.
Another lovely stay at the boathouse, it couldn't be a more perfect holiday cottage. The location is amazing if you just want to relax or venture further afield. This was our second visit and I can't imagine it being our last.
