Set in a peaceful spot down a private drive is Coille Bheag Cottage, right on the coast of the Sleat peninsula of the Isle of Skye, just 7.5 miles from Armadale.

This traditional cottage has been fully refurbished to a high quality finish throughout. The spacious double height, wooden-beamed sitting room has plenty of room for spreading out comfortably around the wood-burning stove. Its large windows are positioned in the corner of the room to take advantage of the great views over the Sound of Sleat to the mountains beyond.
The modern dining kitchen has plenty of room for cooking, with smart built-in appliances and a handy utility room off it that houses the laundry facilities and has a door out to the garden. Also on this level is a snug with reclining sofa, a stylish shower room with rain shower and an inviting double bedroom with a king-size bed and further views of the Sound of Sleat.
Upstairs, off the sunny landing is another double bedroom, a twin room and a family bathroom. The bedrooms both have slightly coombed ceilings and roof windows that keep them light and bright.
Outside, parking is in the gravelled area by the front door and to the back of the cottage is a rough grassed garden area (furniture) that faces the wonderful view.
Skye can be reached by ferry from Mallaig on the mainland, arriving into Armadale (7.5 miles), or via the Skye Bridge (13 miles) from Kyle of Lochalsh.
Armadale has a petrol station/PO and a lovely farm shop with plenty of goodies to stock up on. Broadford (8.5 miles) is the place for supermarket shopping.
There is a sandy beach just 15 minutes’ drive away at Ord and you are spoilt for choice for restaurants with the Duisdale House Hotel in easy walking distance and Kinloch Lodge only 2.5 miles away. There is also a restaurant at the Hotel Eilean Iarmain (1 mile) in the attractive village of Isleornsay. Art exhibitions are held at the gallery there and there is also a clothing boutique and a whisky shop that all sit in the natural harbour facing the little tidal island of Ornsay.
The Fearann Eilean Iarmain Estate covers 23,000 acres of rolling countryside and has a wide an array of bird life and lots of wildflowers dotted around. Day or week permits are available for brown trout fishing in its hill lochs and sea trout fishing on its two rivers.
Skye has several peninsulas that radiate out from the Cuillin rocky mountain range and the Sleat peninsula is often known as ‘the garden of Skye’ due to its rich landscape. Walkers and climbers will be in their element as there are a total of 11 munros to ‘bag’ on the Cuillin range.
Skye’s satellite island Raasay is reachable by ferry from Sconser (22 miles), which is known for its freshly harvested scallops and also has a 9-hole golf course.
