This is a stunning property which has been carefully designed to make the most of its superb situation - all rooms have views directly on to Loch Dunvegan. The extremely spacious sitting room, with vaulted ceiling and wood-burning stove, has windows on three sides and leads onto an open plan and beautifully designed kitchen.
There is also a utility room at the back of the house which serves as a useful boot room and three bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms. All rooms are capable of being twin beds or super-king size doubles. It has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard, with underfloor oil central heating and modern double glazing to keep it nice and warm.
This is a fantastic cottage in a stunning location, close to the shore with superb views of the interesting, flat-topped hills known as 'MacLeod's Tables' (ideal for a challenging walk if the Cuillins to the south should be a little daunting).
Historic Dunvegan Castle is a must-see, as are the Coral Beaches, just a mile or two out of the village. There is plenty of parking at the door and easy boat access should it be required.
The fast dual-track roads to Dunvegan means that you can be in the island's 'capital' Portree (22 miles) in about half an hour and down at Sligachan, amid the Red Cuillin in just as little time.
The north of the island with Duntulm Castle, the amazing rock formations of the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr are also worth exploring. Foodies will find they are within just a few miles of the world-famous Three Chimneys restaurant (though there are also many other excellent eating places to enjoy).
