Cultalla Cottage stands right on the shores of Loch Shiel, some 40 miles from Fort William on the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsula - a little slice of heaven indeed.

It is surrounded by its large, enclosed and secluded grass garden (furniture), perfect for children to kick a ball and for pets, with the hotel and little shops in the scattered crofting community of Acharacle within an easy stroll.  So you really can have it all - peace and quiet, but with amenities close at hand.

The cottage has been a real labour of love for the talented owner, who has given it a superb makeover.  Light and airy, with loch views from the windows, it enjoys every modern comfort, from wide-screen TVs (two of them no less, just in case there is a conflict of interest!) to - iPod dock, efficient oil-CH and a wood-burner which pumps out both warmth and atmosphere.  The L- shaped living area is very spacious, and semi-open plan to the immaculate and well-equipped kitchen.  Beyond that is a TV snug, shower room, three bedrooms and a further bathroom.  The fine wooden flooring throughout is testament to the quality of this delightful holiday home.

Reached by a short, gated drive from the little single-track road, there is plenty of parking at the door, and there is access to a jetty for canoes or kayaks.

Acharacle is a charming little community, and well placed for reaching the beach at Kentra, just 4 miles away, or heading north to meet the Road to the Isles, which will take you to the silver sands of Morar, the excellent golf course at Traigh and on to Mallaig and the ferry to Skye.  To the South, from Salen (3m) you can head west to the tip of the peninsula and from Kilchoan you can catch a ferry to Tobermory on Mull, should you fancy a bit of island hopping.

Walkers can head off into the surrounding hills, fishing can be arranged locally or in the sea lochs.  The quiet roads are just right for cycling and wildlife enthusiasts will find plenty to interest them, for this is a naturalist's paradise.

Bed linen, towels, electricity, oil CH and a starter pack of logs are INCLUDED.  Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement.  Smoking is not permitted in the cottage.  A refundable householder's deposit will be required.  Wi-Fi is available, subject to provider.

Wonderful Cottage in a wonderful landscape. The owner has thought of everything, which you need to have an nice holiday in this house. The house is very good equiped, nice and modern furniture, a nice chimney, internet to plan trips, enough tv's, very good beds and a pier if you want to rent a boat. We fished very goodat loch shiel, but only for salmon and throught and only by boat (you can rent in the village). For fishing in Loch shiel you need a licence. We also fished very good at the coast on the rocks (only 10 minutes away by car). We are thinking about another holiday in Cultala Cottage

Absolutely fabulous cottage, well maintained and so beautifully furnished. The owner left an outstanding instruction manual for every electronical device, which was so helpful. If ever we will be in this area it will definitely be Cultalla again.
