On Scotland's famed West Coast 12 miles west of Lochgilphead and south of the village of Tayvallich (shop/pub/restaurant) with views towards the hills of Knapdale, Otter Point is a superb house in a spectacular setting just above the shoreline of Loch Sween where otters surely run. This is a yachting country par excellence and luxurious Otter Point is also par excellence in comfort and location - looking down onto Tayvallich Harbour which is so often full of yachts en route to the Islands of the Inner and Outer Hebrides.
A spacious house standing detached in its own garden (furniture/barbecue), it is beautifully furnished for a total of 8 people. It has four bedrooms and four bathrooms (2 ensuite); its own private indoor heated swimming-pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna; and grounds leading down to a jetty and mooring which can be used at visitors' own risk.
An area of outstanding beauty where wildlife abounds, there are walks of all degrees roundabout laid out by The Forestry Commission, while single-track roads lead 8 miles south of Tayvallich to finish at the ruined Chapel of Keills and Danna Island and just over the hill to the west to the tiny hamlet of Carsaig with its views across The Sound to The Paps of Jura. The picturesque fishing-port of Crinan is 9 miles north, at the western end of The Crinan Canal which has a 1st class hotel (well known for its seafood, marvellous setting and sunsets), while Lochgilphead (12 miles) has hotels and shops and is a cross roads for visits to Oban (take a day trip to Mull or Iona), ancient Dunadd, Inveraray on Loch Fyne and The Mull of Kintyre.
