Dunmore Cottage is a bright, sunny and beautifully appointed cottage near the little village of Bunessan on the Ross (the southwest corner) of Mull, perfectly placed for visiting Iona and the other islands round about.

It stands in its own small garden, next door to the owner's house, with lovely views across the inlet in front of it.  Inside, it is snug and trim, with a most comfortable sitting room, a well fitted dining kitchen, a double bedroom and a further bedroom with double and single bunks.  Given where it is and what it is, it is sure to be a winner with the many holiday makers who come each year to visit this enchanting and accessible island.

Bunessan has a shop and a hotel.  Nearby Fionnphort is where you can take the little foot ferry across to the sacred isle of Iona.  It is also the starting point for boat trips to Staffa to see the legendary Fingal's Cave, and the Treshnish isles.   If you are lucky, you may spot dolphins, basking sharks and even whale in the surrounding waters.

Walkers will enjoy forays into the surrounding hills;  there are lots of quiet coves along this coast for leisurely picnics; Duart and Torosay Castles are well worth a visit, and children and adults alike will enjoy a trip on the miniature railway there.

While most of the roads on Mull tend to be single track, it is still possible to get round much of the island in a day.  A visit to the picturesque 'capital' Tobermory is a must.  If you go 'the pretty way' up the west coast, you will come to Ulva of Lord Ullin's Daughter fame, the fabulous beach at Calgary, and heading inland, the Mull Little Theatre at Dervaig.  You can certainly relax, but should never be bored on Mull!

Heating by oil fired central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all INCLUDED in the rental.  Up to two well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement.  Smoking is not permitted in the house.

We love staying at Dunmore Cottage. It's a home, not just a holiday let. It's pet-friendly and has everything we need. We've stayed three times now and were sad to leave on Saturday so have just booked for another 2 weeks later in the year. It can't come quick enough!!

We found Dunmore Cottage a most comfortable and welcoming base. There is always something special and interesting to do on the island - and much of it very close to Bunessan....Our stay on Mull has been most enjoyable and we hope not to leave it so long before we return again. We know where we would like to come back to!

Thanks for letting us share your comfortable and homely cottage, equipped with everything we could need. We heard corncrakes on Iona, such a peaceful place....enjoyed crab salad to die for on Ulva - we can recommend that for a day out for sure. Lots of birds of prey locally. See the hen harriers and short-eared owls on the expanse behind the house. This is our 5th time on Mull and it is still a wonderful island for a holiday.

We had an unforgettable week. The nature of the Ross of Mull is marvellous. We were lucky to have such fine weather. The evening gives us beautiful sunsets. Dunmore Cottage is very comfortable - almost better or the same as home! The otter was difficult to spot we thought, but today we walked along the coast by Carsaig and we saw otters for a long time. We have warm feelings and we will remember this holiday.

Initially a thank you for making Dunmore Cottage such a comfortable and relaxing base from which to enjoy our week on Mull. This has been our first trip away with our West Highland Terrier and we now have happy pictures in our minds of her paddling in the sea off Iona and at Fidden. A new experience for all of us! The views over the loch are exceptional and Bunessan has proved exactly what we had hoped for in terms of a friendly, relaxing atmosphere in picturesque surroundings.
