Is 7 miles north of Ardvasar (hotel, pub, tea-room) on the Sleat Peninsula (the southern end of Skye known as The Garden of Skye) and it stands detached, on a hillside, above a lovely beach and a spectacular shoreline with views across to the Islands of Saoy, Canna and Rhum.
It is reached by a single-track road from The Sound of Sleat (wonderful views, beware of Stags!) and visitors can come from the mainland either by the car-ferry from Mallaig to Armadale (8 miles), or via the Skye Bridge (about 25 miles). They will arrive to find a simply but attractively furnished, homely modern bungalow, with views over the Cuillin, standing in its own large grass garden in an incredibly quiet, beautiful environment where visitors can walk freely anywhere for a short stroll or a day's hill climb. Bicycles can be hired from the local garage if you wish to get further afield without your car and boat trips are available in Season from the pier at Armadale. The Gaelic College nearby has on offer many traditional music workshops with regular shows. The Clan Donald Centre and Armadale Castle has beautiful gardens, a museum, restaurant and gift-shop and there are 5 other hotel/restaurants on Sleat including famous Kinloch House for that special night out where (Lady) Clare MacDonald presides.
Heating is by electricity. Bed-linen is INCLUDED and towels are available for hire. One well behaved dog is welcome by arrangement.
