Achduart Cottage is a traditional stone-built cottage 4 miles east of the village of Achiltibuie (shops, renowned Summer Isles Hotel/Restaurant) in Wester Ross north-west of Ullapool. It stands just 50 yards from the sea at the end of a single-track road where it is completely secluded - set in its own private enclosed garden which has a small stream and access to a further five acres of wooded garden with many rare plants. Facing south, it has truly spectacular uninterrupted views across Loch Broom to the Dundonnell Mountains and west to The Summer Isles, as well as to craggy Ben Mor Coigach at its rear.
Recently renovated to a high standard, it is very comfortably furnished - pine-panelled and double-glazed throughout - with a spacious sunroom from which to enjoy these truly marvellous views and the sight of the ferry plying to and from Stornoway in The Outer Hebrides (take a day trip).
It is an ideal location from which to explore the wonderful beaches, islands, cliffs, mountains, lochs and moorlands of this remote, beautiful part of Scotland where whales, seals, deer, golden eagles, ptarmigan and many seabirds can be seen - or for those just wanting to relax and unwind.
Oil central-heating, some fuel, electricity, bed-linen and towels are all INCLUDED. Pets are usually welcome by prior arrangement. Sorry, no smoking in the cottage.
