Tigh a Bhradan (pronounced Tie a Vradan, meaning the Salmon House) is a delightful terraced cottage right on the shore in the equally delightful village of Applecross, which is situated on Scotland's lovely west coast, directly opposite Skye and Raasay. In olden times, everything had to come into Applecross by sea, but now you can drive there over the spectacular Pass of the Cattle or take the equally 'scenic route' round the coast along the shores of Loch Torridon and the Inner Sound.
Next door to the Old Post Office and with splendid views of these two magical islands either from the front windows or the little private garden (furniture) right on the sea shore, Tigh a Bhradan has recently been completely refurbished by its new owners to make a warm and comfortable holiday home. It has the additional benefit of being very close to the one-and-only village pub (bar meals) and the village shop. The little lanes of the village are an idyllic oasis after the dramatic scenery of your journey, fringed as they are by banks of wild iris and orchids.
This is a place to chill and relax. Stroll on the shore and explore the rock pools, watch out for the varied wildlife, or, if you are determined to be energetic, there is wonderful walking in the surrounding hills, or in mighty Torridon itself. Mountain walks and kayaking can be arranged in the village.
Heating by electric central heating and wood-burning stove, bed linen and towels are INCLUDED. Up to two pets are welcome by arrangement. Sorry, no smoking.
Also in Applecross - see The Old Post Office (sleeps 2)
