Dundee has no recommended hostel or backpacker accommodation - the cheaper B&Bs on the fringes of the city centre are the most reasonable alternative. You'll find plenty of rooms out by the suburb of Broughty Ferry, a twenty-minute bus ride (90p) into the city on Travel Dundee buses #7, #8 or #9X, or Strathtay buses #73 and #76 (all leave from either Commercial Street or Seagate in the town centre).
