Glenshee, between Blairgowrie and Braemar, takes its name from the Gaelic 'The Glen of the Fairies', and ski-ing here can indeed be magical. It is the furthest south of the Scottish ski resorts, and therefore arguably the most accessible.
It is also the most extensive, stretching for 2000 acres over four mountains and three valleys, with 36 runs, 40 km of pisted snow and 21 lifts. Things have moved on, then, from the early days in the Thirties, when skiers were towed up by two tractors!
It caters for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, with ski hire, ski schools, and equipment hire.

This charming and characterful hideaway has been created as the first floor apartment conversion of an elegant Victorian church, set among the trees in its own grounds just a few minutes walk from the centre of the pretty little town of Braemar (shops, restaurants, pubs) in the heart of Royal Deeside.

This sweet little "roses-round-the-door" terraced cottage stands on a quiet farm lane on the edge of the village of Kirkmichael in Highland Perthshire, perfectly placed for the Glenshee ski slopes in winter and for walking, golfing and touring at other times of year. Cosy with its wood burning stove and most comfortably furnished, it is a perfect retreat for two people or (with an extra single bed) even for a small family.

is a small and compact, very attractively-converted semi-detached old stone cottage situated quietly near the centre of Braemar and is the house where Robert Louis Stevenson wrote some of his famous book 'Treasure Island' way back in 188 - but is now completely modernised, with a large (shared) safe garden.

Is a south-facing detached cottage standing one mile up a private drive off a quiet side-road within the grounds of Ashintully Castle, midway (15 miles) between Pitlochry and Blairgowrie in Perthshire, and 3 miles from the village of Kirkmicheal.

This delightful, whitewashed, traditional and most comfortable cottage has a lovely rural location in Strathardle, about 10 miles northwest of Blairgowrie in Highland Perthshire, with fine views across the valley to the hills beyond. It is well situated for walking, golfing, and exploring extensive parts of Scotland, as well as being convenient for the Glenshee ski area in winter.
