When the Open returns to 'the home of golf' at St Andrews, it is always a big deal. Not only does the legendary Old Course have one of the most beautiful settings of any golf course in the world, but St Andrews itself is such a unique place, small, steeped in history with a very special atmosphere
The limited accommodation in the town itself is at a huge premium during the event. However, this is the time when the other jewels in the Kingdom of Fife's royal crown more than come into their own, in particular the string of picturesque little fishing villages of the East Neuk, only about 7-15 easy miles from the hallowed links.
Here, Open visitors will find delightful accommodation at much more reasonable rates, in an environment which lends itself not just to the golf but to enjoyable family holidays, where not just the golf enthusiasts, but all members of the family will find something to enjoy.

East Shore Cottage is a lovely little former fisherman's cottage right on the shore in the picturesque village of St Monans in the East Neuk of Fife and just 13 miles from St Andrews.
