'When it's good, it's very, very good'....  certainly applies to ski-ing in Scotland.  Reports of its early demise due to global warming have been greatly exaggerated, and 2010 promises to be the best season in decades, with plentiful snow, great runs and an excellent infrastructure.

There are five major ski centres in Scotland - Glenshee, The Lecht, the Cairngorms, Glencoe and the Nevis Range .

While much obviously depends on the snow, all have their own attractions.  The Cairngorm offers magnificent skiing in a spectacular location and also has the country's only funicular railway to get you up to the top.  The Lecht has perhaps the most consistent snow (if necessary aided by a snow-making machine!) and is very family orientated, with all runs coming down to the car park and central meeting point.  Glenshee is the most extensive resort, extending over three valleys, while the Nevis range offers ski-ing up to 3,900ft which continues well into the spring.

All resorts cater for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, with ski hire, ski schools, and equipment hire.
