|12-Dec-2017||Black Isle Cottage BJ7 (overall)||Really easy convenient and focused service. Only slight annoyance is housekeeping deposit|
|12-Dec-2017||Meadowhead Barn CE8 (overall)||Service from the owner's was first class.The accommodation was spacious but at the same time cosy. The bed was comfortable the kitchen was probably the best I've ever encountered in a self catering accommodation. There was every appliance you could possibly need and more.Flat screen tv and lovely caste iron wood burner. The shower had power and water always hot. The garden was lovely along with country views of South Lanarkshire.it's not a case of we would go back but more like we will be back. A lovely break with lovely memories.|
|12-Dec-2017||Brae Cottage AT9 (overall)||The cottage was very pretty and was situated in a beautiful area. It would be good if the heating could be switched on before arrivals as the cottage can be very cold in the winter. The cottage was finished to a high standard however the garden was not secure for dogs which was disappointing as advertised as pet friendly. Overall it's a great cottage and in a lovely setting.|
|12-Dec-2017||Dorlin Cottage AE3 (overall)||Fast. Efficient and faultless service|
|12-Dec-2017||Boom House AD5 (overall)||The layout of the house is confusing and we felt compelled to go up on to the mazzanine level in the evening which was uncomfortable and cramped to watch TV.
The kitchen area was tired and reminiscent of a mobile home and not very well equipped.
During our stay we had no heating apart from the stove therefore the bedrooms downstairs were icy cold.
The house itself could be absolutely stunning with some updating.
It's in an amazing location with spectacular views whatever the weather.
The bed upstairs though was ridiculously comfortable.
|12-Dec-2017||The Doctor's Bothy EX2 (overall)||The Doctors Bothy would be a lovely place to stay in warmer months with its great hillside setting, beautiful views, wildlife and tranquility.
We visited in November to find that the back boiler of the stove was not providing the hot water as advertised but water was being heated by LPG multipoint water heater which was apparently for summer use only, therefore the bath couldn't be used and there was no connection to the radiators. The cottage was very cold even with both fires lit, though we appreciated the supply of peat!
The access track is possibly worse than advertised, we got a Ford Transit van up at the start and finish, parking in the bay at the bottom in between, which was becoming increasingly soft till the van got stuck (some very friendly local crofters pulled us out).
All in all a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings which would be perfect in the summer due to it being off grid. Not sure if it is equipped for cold weather though!!
