***Introductory Comments***

Welcome! This inaugural issue aims to set the tone to what I hope will become a newsletter that inspires and informs anybody with an interest in enjoying rural Scotland. I aim to appeal to occasional and regular visitors and even residents.  Basically anybody who likes to get out and about.

I will cover a different topic each month and, as I have done today, will also frequently include a guest article to give you an expert's take on their particular field.

For the bargain hunters amongst you, we will always have a number of readers?only deals. Some of these will be specific to one or other of our cottages. Others you will be able to use against any of our cottage holidays. You will find details towards the bottom of each issue.

Onwards... - Emma

***Guest Article***

If you have an interest in traditional Scottish music, it is a near certainty that you will have come across Simon Thoumire and his Footstompin' Celtic Music site. Simon is a concertina player of international repute and his knowledge of Scotland's folk scene is outstanding. I am delighted that he has had the time to share his thoughts on this summer?s folk festivals with us.

~~Folk Music Festivals in 2003 - by Simon Thoumire~~

Anyone looking for a fun weekend with a liberal helping of real Scottish culture could do worse than visit one of the many traditional music festivals taking place in various parts of the country....Full Article>>>
