Welcome to July's issue of the Unique Cottages newsletter. This month's main feature and guest article have been inspired by your feedback.

Many thanks to Judith Monro for her request for more information about Scottish air travel which forms our main feature. Our guest article is a feature on relaxed golf courses thanks to a suggestion from subscriber John Connaghan.

I hope both Judith, John and everyone else enjoys this month's issue, and I'm very keen for more suggestions for future editions. Any feedback (including volunteer writers for guest articles!) is always more than welcome.

Although Scotland seems at first too small a country to make air travel around it worthwhile, there are plenty of journeys that really do justify it. Trips that normally take several hours by car can be cut down drastically, and if that doesn't swing you, how about the amazing views or landing on a shell sand beach instead of a runway? There are plenty of small airports besides the main destinations of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Here's a selection of the best domestic air routes in Scotland.

The focus this month is on golf courses very much open to everyone, with no pretensions, and several recommendations led me to this month's author - Nick Brown of Woll Golf Course, near Selkirk in the Scottish Borders. He has kindly agreed to write about courses where golfers of all abilities are welcome. However the main reason I asked him specifically is because their parkland course fits the bill perfectly - so don't forget Woll Golf Course with its stunning views, welcoming atmosphere and good pub nearby if you fancy an enjoyable round. It is currently a 9 hole course but the next nine are being built and will be ready to play on in 2004.
