***Introductory Comments***
Welcome to August's issue of the Uniquely Unspoilt newsletter.
This issue's main feature covers where to buy luxury food around Scotland, whether you're stocking up for a weekend in a cottage, or just happen to be passing through an area with a recommended shop.
Our guest article this month is a guide to Scotland's glorious gardens, a walk in any of which would be a good antidote to overdoing it on the food!
Finally, thanks again for your feedback suggesting articles for future issues.
I hope you enjoy this issue, and I would be very interested to hear of any of your culinary or garden experiences! Emma emma@uniquescotland.com
*** Main Feature ***
~~Scottish luxury food~~
How does a banana from the Highlands strike you? Or food shopping with a field of llamas in the background?
Scotland is full of opportunities for interesting culinary experiences beyond haggis, Irn Bru and deep fried Mars bars (not that they don?t have their place though). If you fancy some fresh, quality local produce, there are plenty of places ready to prove that Scottish food is amongst the best in the world.
The Highland bananas can be found at...Full Article>>>
***Guest Article***
Our guest article this month comes courtesy of Scotland?s Gardens Scheme. Vice President Kirsty Maxwell Stuart has kindly detailed her 'must-see' gardens around Scotland, from Bute to Biggar. The recent good weather has ensured these incredible gardens have looked even better than usual.
Scotland?s Gardens Scheme is a Scottish registered charity which opens mainly privately owned gardens to the public throughout Scotland. Their work is dependent on the help of more than 150 volunteers who help to organise and run the garden openings, and the generosity of the garden owners. ~~A guide to Scottish gardens - by Kirsty Maxwell Stuart~~
The cottage has been selected, arrangements made, packing done, and you?ve arrived at what may be a completely new part of Scotland or a familiar and much-loved area. Now comes the exciting part: choosing interesting things to do and see.
More and more people are discovering that a visit to some of Scotland?s amazingly diverse gardens is the perfect way to enjoy what Scotland has to offer...Full Article>>>
