The perfect pied à terre for two (or for extra party members at Tigh Craggan next door), Little Tigh Craggan is a real little jewel in the small Highland Perthshire village of Weem, near Aberfeldy.

'Bijou' does not necessarily mean cramped however and guests will be delighted with how the house has been set up to be ‘just right for two’. The space is very practically arranged to make living here as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

The external door at the side of the house leads straight into the kitchen and this room creates an excellent first impression. It is well-equipped with a fine range of units and a full range of appliances and still manages to have plenty of space to spare. Guests even have a choice of places to eat - there’s a breakfast bar in the kitchen as well as a dining table in the living room.

The stylish living room is quite long with the in the electric flame effect fire opposite the large, comfortable sofa, with the television to one side. The dining table is at the far end beside the window, so you can watch the world go by as you eat.

The (steepish) stairs leading up from the sitting room come straight to the double bedroom that is warm and inviting with good storage. It also has a stylish en suite bathroom with a bath and shower over.

Outside the cottage has its own private entry and off road parking.

Map & Local

Weem has a good pub/restaurant and the bustling little town of Aberfeldy (2 miles) has lots of interesting shops, good eating places, a golf course, a leisure centre and even a distillery, for good measure, offering tours and tastings.

The Tay is beloved of fishermen, kayakers and white water enthusiasts, with the competition area at Grandtully just a few miles downstream. In the other direction you can lose yourself in the hills along Glen Lyon, head over to Lochs Tummel and Rannoch or enjoy the watersports on Loch Tay. From there you can go on to the west coast or Glencoe, Callander and the Trossachs - all may be visited in day trips.

Loch Tay is one of Scotland’s most beautiful lochs, with two of the county’s prettiest villages, Kenmore and Killin at either end. Both have shops, restaurant, golf courses and their own unique tourist attractions. Kenmore has the Crannog Centre, a replica Iron Age house on stilts in the loch, where visitors can try their hand at Iron Age Crafts, while Killin is bisected by the spectacular Falls of Dochart which tumble through the village. More waterfalls, this time the Falls of Lochay, are just to the north west of the village.

Serious walkers can join the West Highland Way in less than an hour’s drive at Crianlarich, and turning left there will bring you in short order to Loch Lomond, perhaps the most iconic of all Scottish lochs. To the north east, Aviemore and the Cairngorms are also feasible destinations for a day trip.
