What was once a humble stable block on an old rural estate has been transformed into a luxurious, house with lots of room to spread out into and a lovely light and airy feeling throughout.
The sitting room is decorated in soothing tones with a wood-burning stove (with feature flue) at its centre and comfy L-shaped seating from which to admire it from. The sitting room leads through to an inviting sun room that even has its own little wood-burning stove so you can curl up of an evening and listen to the great outdoors whilst still keeping cosy. One entire wall is made of glass concertina doors that open fully to showcase the view out across the garden to the countryside and hills beyond.
The kitchen area is smart and well-equipped with a breakfast bar for informal breakfasts and a useful utility room for the laundry facilities. The extensive dining area next to the kitchen is a great spot to gather for relaxed evening meals and there is also a handy WC downstairs and two double bedrooms with plenty of built-in storage, that share a chic bathroom.
Upstairs the bedrooms are all beautifully furnished and tastefully presented with views out over the pretty garden. The bright master double bedroom is particularly spacious with a super king-size bed and thoroughly modern shower room and there is also an attractive twin bedroom (ideal for children) and a further double bedroom that share a shower room.
Outside the wonderful raised decking area is just the spot for some al fresco dining or for unwinding in the wood-fired hot tub and taking in the view. Steps lead down to the rest of the enclosed garden that is mainly laid to grass so is perfect for kids to run around in.
Huntly (10.5 miles) is a charming market town with over 100 different shops to explore, as well as a large supermarket for stocking up on provisions, a swimming pool and an 18 hole golf course with a wide expanse of fairways.
The town’s train station allows for easy access to Aberdeen in under an hour and Inverness in around an hour and a half.
Just outside Huntly is an outdoor centre offering skiing and if there is no snow there are all weather ski tracks or tubing to try instead. Nearby Huntly Falconry has bird of prey demonstrations that allow you to see eagles, falcons and owls up close - you can even have one land on your (gloved) arm.
The interesting ruins of 12th century Huntly Castle (12 miles) are relatively intact with a surprising amount of detail that has been preserved over the years including intricately carved stone fireplaces and a turret from which there are panoramic views.
History enthusiasts will also love Leith Hall (2.5 miles) with its experienced guides that lead guided tours around the various rooms and a military exhibition that you can wander round yourself. The extensive grounds around the castle are a joy to walk in with their zig zag paths, plethora of colourful plants and flowers and a pond where you can often spot herons.
If you are on the whisky trail you will find the GlenDronach Distillery (17 miles), the Strathisla Distillery (21 miles) and Dufftown Distillery (24 miles) all in easy reach.

Bed linen and towels are INCLUDED. Electricity is INCLUDED. Heating is by oil central heating (INCLUDED) and wood-burning stove (logs INCLUDED). WiFi is INCLUDED (subject to a fair usage policy). Water is from a private source which is UV filtered and regularly tested; however (as is typical in many parts of Scotland) it can become discoloured, particularly after heavy rainfall. Guests may therefore prefer to bring bottled water to drink. A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at an additional charge (2 large, 2 medium or 2 small).
