Tucked away among the hills of Strathspey, just 20 miles from Grantown and less than an hour's drive from Inverness airport, is a Highland retreat which is very special indeed!

Corglass Cottage is a detached, spruce Norwegian cabin, reached by a good private road which leads you right up into the hills. It stands in its own garden (with seating area) surrounded by views of moors and hills. It is well secluded from the owners' house which is the only other dwelling nearby.
The uninterrupted views in every room from the large, double-glazed picture windows are quite stunning. There is even a magnificent valley panorama which can be enjoyed from the bath!
Inside, the cottage gives an overall effect of wonderful light and space. There is an open plan living area, beautifully furnished and appointed and a snug double bedroom, while the bathroom has a separate shower and that superbly situated bath. The cottage is well-insulated and oil-fired central heating keeps it toasty warm.
If the interior of Corglass Cottage delights you, the surroundings will blow you away. Roe and red deer, hare, grouse, buzzards and hen harriers are all frequently to be seen, while in springtime the vicinity is a prime breeding ground for lapwings, curlews and oystercatchers.
Put on your boots and walk out into wild moorland hills from the cottage door or venture a little further to explore the mountains of the nearby Cairngorms National Park. The owners have mountain bikes available for hire if you would like to cycle by the mighty River Spey along the Speyside Way.
There is a 9-hole course five minutes away at Ballindalloch and an 18 hole one at Grantown - and for the skiing season the Lecht and Cairgorm Mountain resort are about half an hour away. The owners specialise in outdoor activities and can provide a wealth of information on all the sports you can enjoy in the area.
For a less strenuous day out, there are numerous castles and gardens to visit, and few come to this area without sampling the produce of at least one of its famous malt distilleries. Here you are right on the Whisky Trail with the Cardhu, Glenfarclas, Glenlivet and Macallan distilleries just a few minutes down the road - and that's only to name a few!
The Moray coast, rich in wildlife, with sandy beaches and quaint fishing villages is well worth visiting too and again, is just half an hour's drive away. At Corglass Cottage, we feel there is little chance of you ever being bored.

Bed linen and towels are INCLUDED. Electricity is INCLUDED. Heating is by oil central heating (INCLUDED). Water is from a private source which is UV filtered and regularly tested; however (as is typical in many parts of Scotland) it can become discoloured, particularly after heavy rainfall. Guests may therefore prefer to bring bottled water to drink. Sorry, pets are not accepted. No smoking. No infants.
