Holidays right 'Down South'

From the rugged coastline at St Abbs with its nature reserve to the award winning beaches at Coldingham, the bustling harbour at Eyemouth, the historic houses, castles and towers from the time of the conflicts with England and the Border Reivers, right through to the stunning walks across the Lammermuir Hills - there truly is something for everyone!
Berwickshire is known for the bloody history of the numerous battles that were fought between the English and Scottish and the Border Reivers (outlaws).
Berwickshire is a walkers mecca with plenty of walking routes in the Lammermuir Hills, the Duns town trail and the 28 mile Berwickshire Coastal Path from Cockburnspath to Berwick-upon-Tweed. The path follows the rugged coastline of the county including the second highest set of cliffs on the east coast of Britain and the opportunity to join the Southern Upland Way (Scotland's coast to coast walk) and complete the 32 mile section from Lauder to Cockburnspath.

This was our second visit to Ashieburn Cottage. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is spotlessly clean and well appointed. The garden is large and beautifully maintained it is also totally enclosed so ideal for our dog to roam around. There is a lovely wood adjacent to the property which is ideal for exercising the dog. Overall we had a lovely week here and will be back

13-Jul-2025 | Jalna HF9 (overall) |

Jlana is a fabulous home from home. This cottage has everything you could possibly need for a holiday home. The decoration is a mix of contemporary, modern and old and it works so well. The owners are very artistic in the way they have designed the house. Everything from furniture to crockery is excellent quality. There is a most interesting cottage garden with lots of seating areas. The location of Jlana is perfect. So close to the quantities fishing villages and inland for castles, gardens and of course Scotland's Secret Bunker. Fife is such a lovely county and unlike many areas in Scotland is not overcrowded.
