Overview

In addition to being supremely comfortable, the cottage has also been modernised with great flair and imagination. It is now a charming retreat for a couple in search of a relaxing holiday amid superb scenery. The cosy sitting room has comfortable L-shaped seating around the wood-burning stove (that supplements the oil central heating) with its stylish feature flue. The low windows mean that guests can enjoy the view without even stirring from their chairs! The stylish dining kitchen is spacious and well-equipped with a little dining area set up just for two.

All on one level there is a spacious double bedroom with a super king-size bed and adjoining modern shower room with a double shower.

Outside a charming, sheltered and sunny little seating area has been created against the banking, ideal for peaceful evening drinks, or even an al fresco lunch or breakfast. Secure storage is also available for bikes, etc. Those with mobility issues should note that there are steps up to the entrance of the cottage.

Map & Local

Rural, peaceful and very beautiful, Yetholm is a thriving little community with a village shop, butchers, post office, garage, campsite and two pubs in which to relax after a day's walking one of nearly 40 public access routes in the area.

It is also an ideal base for exploring the wider Scottish Borders and north Northumberland, with Holy Island being easily reached as well as the rugged coastline of Berwickshire. To the west are the famous border abbeys of Dryburgh and Jedburgh, as well as other numerous castles, stately homes and gardens.

Wildlife lovers will enjoy the nature reserve at Yetholm Loch which is home to otters and even the occasional osprey and nearby Hoselaw Loch, populated by migrating ducks and geese.

A bit further afield the capital of Edinburgh, with all its attractions, is easily reachable in an hour and a half's drive or by train from either Berwick-upon-Tweed (23 miles) or Tweedbank (25 miles).
