Just a few miles from the centre of Edinburgh by fast train, it is an attractive and comfortable holiday home and an ideal base for exploring this part of Scotland.
Standing in its own small fenced garden (with patio area) it is double-glazed and electrically heated and is simply but cosily furnished.
This may be a compact little house, but it has been cleverly designed to make the most of the space available. In the open plan living area, the kitchen/dining part is amazingly spacious, while the comfortably furnished sitting area allows you to relax after a hard day on the sands, on the golf course or in the sea.
Perhaps Driftwood’s greatest charm is its décor, which throughout reflects its proximity to the sea. The colour scheme of blue and sunny yellow in the sitting area shades to a jaunty blue and white in the double bedroom and the shower room. It is all very bright and jolly, and puts you right in the mood for the beach outside.
From Driftwood, there is an easy walk around the coast into nearby Dunbar (all facilities). For more energetic walkers, the Southern Upland Way commences just 8 miles away at Cockburnspath.
As well as the Winterfield course behind the house, there are many excellent golf courses in the area, notably Luffnessn and, of course, Muirfield itself. Then you can finish off the day by visiting one of the gourmet restaurants which the area also boasts.
From the pretty resort of North Berwick, in the shadow of Berwick Law (14m) you can take boat trips to visit the seabird colonies on the Bass Rock.
Dramatic Tantallon Castle and Dirleton Castle with its lovely gardens are both close by, while for longer trips you are not far from the Edinburgh Bypass and its feeder motorways, which will whisk you across the Forth Bridge to the Highlands or off to the west coast with minimum effort and delay.

Very comfortable with good facilities. But disappointed there was no wi-fi. We would certainly book it again.

'Lovely chalet, perfect for the two of us! We would be happy to come back again and explore more of this lovely coastline. The weather was a bit misty, but warm and dry.'
'We had a lovely relaxing break and thanks for arranging good weather - sunny everyday! This is our second visit and everything we need is here and so close to the beach for walking. I learned a lot about golf just watching out of the window!'
