The apartment is on the first floor of the development up two small flights of stairs, but also with lift access and a state-of-the art video entry system. The spacious open plan living area really takes advantage of the apartment’s seaside situation with large picture windows that let the light flood into the comfortable, stylish seating area and even a Juliet balcony from which to admire the sea view. The smart and contemporary kitchen area has built-in appliances (including a dishwasher) and the dining area is handily situated right next to it so the cook doesn’t have to miss out on all the fun.
All on one level there are two neat modern bedrooms. The elegant double bedroom is light and airy with handy built-in storage and a contemporary en suite shower room with large walk-in shower. The twin bedroom is bright and spacious and there is also a modern bathroom with a bath and shower over.
The apartment has parking just outside and also a secure, assigned space underground.
The development is right on the shores of the Firth of Forth and you can enjoy a gentle stroll along the waterside with the iconic Forth Rail and Road bridges at South Queensferry visible off in the distance.
You are within easy walking distance of pubs, a small restaurant and a 24 hour supermarket. The Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre is half an hour’s walk away and has a wide array of shops, as well as various restaurants, a cinema, a gym and a soft play area. The Royal Yacht Britannia is moored just outside the shopping centre where you can take a tour on board to learn about the history of the Queen’s former floating residence. You can wander a bit further into Leith which you will find to be a lively cultural spot with lots of galleries, cafés, restaurants and bars.
There is a very good local bus infrastructure and with a bus stop right outside the development, the best way to get into Edinburgh city centre is by bus. Once in the city you have every shop and amenity you could wish for, as well as galleries, museums, theatres and the underground city where you can take a spooky evening ghost tour. There are the iconic historic attractions of Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace to visit as well, or you could hike up Arthur’s Seat for an amazing view of the whole city spread out before you.
Throughout August every year the city comes to life even further when the city plays host to an amazing array of street performers, theatre shows and stand-up comedy as part of the Edinburgh Festival. The festival draws in visitors from all over the world, a particular highlight being the spectacle of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo that sees a myriad of military musicians and performers put on a grand display at Edinburgh Castle for hundreds of thousands of people during its 3 week run.
In the unlikely event that you run out of things to see and do in Edinburgh you are well placed for exploring the Scottish Borders countryside for the day, perhaps visiting one of the historic abbeys at Dryburgh, Jedburgh, Kelso or Melrose. In the other direction you can cross over the Forth Road Bridge to explore the delights of Fife and Perthshire.
