Feel uplifted from the moment you enter. Floor to ceiling windows along the passageway afford an abundance of natural light. The proportion of glass is balanced with natural solid oak finishes, Caithness slate flooring, and exposed wall to give it a contemporary, yet calming feel.
The kitchen-diner is fully equipped with all you need for cooking and entertaining up to eight people. With an expansive open-plan layout, it’s perfect for creating memorable mealtimes.
In the large, bright sitting room there is space for everyone to relax on the snug sofas. As the nights draw in and the temperature drops outside, bask in the cosy glow from the log burning stove.
The sunroom is another area with ample comfortable seating. The sliding glass doors provide a connection to outside with restful views of the garden. It may even become your favourite spot for contemplation while sipping your first coffee of the day.
The four bedrooms have en suite facilities and the beds can be made up as either super-kings or twin singles, giving flexibility to meet your party’s needs.
Two of the bedrooms are downstairs and have level entry showers, with one large enough to accommodate a wheelchair or shower seat. Private car parking by the door also ensures wheelchair accessibility.
Outdoors there is a fully enclosed walled garden, laid to lawn with sizable circular terrace and seating area. The quiet seclusion allows you to make the most of the outside space, whether you are dining al fresco or luxuriating in the hot tub. It also gives you peace of mind if you have any young explorers who want to run around and enjoy the fresh air.
Golfers will want to take advantage of the abundant external storage, which has five caddy charging points and room for all your sporting equipment.
If you want to host your intimate wedding within the picturesque grounds, a marquee can be arranged (additional cost). There’s even facility to land your helicopter if required!
Whether your day is spent on the fairways, discovering the sandy beaches along the coast or seeing the sights of Edinburgh, you know that Denfind House is your sanctuary from the bustle of everyday life.
Golfers will find that they are spoilt for choice with courses at Musselburgh, North Berwick, Dunbar and Gullane to name but a few. In fact, there are 20 different courses within a 30 minute drive of the house.
The village of Dirleton (1 mile) has an excellent bar/bistro to stop off at for a break from cooking. At the centre of the village sits historic Dirleton Castle, a medieval fortress dating back to 1240 that is remarkably intact to this day. Cross over the bridge to enter the castle itself or wander round the wonderful grounds that are home to a herbaceous border that holds the record as the world’s longest at 215 metres long!
Head out walking in the Lammermuir hills of even join up with the John Muir Way walking route that runs through Dirleton. Gullane (2 miles) has a small supermarket and North Berwick (3.5 miles) is the place to stock up on supplies.
This area has a wonderful stretch of coastline with several gorgeous sandy beaches that are great to walk along and explore whatever the weather.
From the train station at Drem (2.5 miles) you can be in the centre of Edinburgh in under half an hour for a day trip. Those with an interest in aviation will love touring round the National Museum of Flight (6 miles) and, if cars appeal more, track days are available at the East Fortune Race Circuit (6 miles) just nearby.
