Overview

The cabins were featured in The Guardian's article on '10 of the best cosy holiday cabins in the UK'. Inside the wonderful views provide the main focal point throughout and the layout is open plan so that everything is easily to hand. An innovative cooking island is provided with a built-in hob, microwave and sink, as well as a little dining area alongside.

The seascape is truly captivating with the tide coming and going and the sofa set up in front of the window just waiting to be curled up on. There is a TV but the ever-changing vista outside may well distract from anything on that!

The double bed is positioned facing glass doors and a huge picture window that display the beautiful beach view to its fullest, making it seem in touching distance even from bed. Just off the bedroom is an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower over.

Outdoors the deck is a great place to sit, relax and really appreciate the amazing scenery spread out before you. In between the two cabins is a boot room with useful additional storage space and a path leads from the cabin straight down to the sandy shore.

Please note: Ferry tickets over to Lewis should be booked with CalMac Ferries at the time of booking your stay in order to ensure availability.

Map & Local

Uig Bay has been categorised as one of only 40 National Scenic Areas in Scotland and it is easy to understand on arrival when you witness it in all its splendour. The white sands just beg to be explored and are sure to be where the majority of time is spent.

Wildlife lovers will be in their element here as these islands are home to a high density of golden eagles and there are deer and otters that often visit the beach.

Uig’s community shop also sells petrol and a bit further on is a museum/café that is a good stop off point after days spent out and about. The island is 36 miles in length in total and only around 12 miles wide but there is still plenty to see and do as it merges into Harris further south.

Stornoway is the biggest town on the island where shops and supermarkets can be found as well as an 18 hole golf course and the impressive 19th century Lews Castle where the famous Lewis Chessmen are displayed. The airport in Stornoway provides a handy alternative to the ferry crossing from the mainland.

Whilst in Stornoway take one of the range of wildlife boat trips that run out from the harbour with the chance to spot puffins, sea eagles, dolphins and even whales in the rich surrounding feeding grounds.

Passing through Harris make sure to visit the home of the famous Harris Tweed at An Tairbeart and the Seal-Iam! Visitor Centre in Northton which offers a fascinating insight into Hebridean history and has a genealogical research centre where family history can be traced.

Please note: while we make every effort to be as accurate as possible, the actual position of the cottage indicated on the map above and the proximity of the amenities in the Local Info section cannot be guaranteed to be precise and should be used as a guide only.
