Keeper's Cottage stands on its own behind a little gathering of houses on the Eileanreach Estate about 1/4 mile from the shore of The Sound of Sleat, near the little village of Glenelg and 20 miles south of the Kyle of Lochalsh.

Inside it is furnished in a pleasing traditional style. The welcoming sitting room has comfortable seating around the cosy open fire that is ideal for snuggling up after the day’s exertions. The dining room and kitchen have been combined to create a bright and spacious living area that has plenty of room for both cooking and dining.
Upstairs are two attractive bedrooms, a double and a twin, that are both warm and inviting with large windows and slightly coombed ceilings. A family bathroom completes the accommodation.
The cottage is surrounded by its own small garden and has lovely views of the Sound and hills. There is also a communal laundry room that is shared with North Cottage and South Cottage, where there is a washing-machine, tumble drier and deep freeze for guests' use.
The Estate stretches many miles along the shores of The Sound of Sleat opposite the southern end of the Isle of Skye and faces west across 3 miles of sea towards the dramatic peaks of The Cuillin Mountains on Skye and south to the Islands of Eigg, Rhum and Muck.
The nearby village of Glenelg has a hotel/restaurant, PO and well-stocked general store.
There is magnificent scenery on a grand scale herer with 3,000 foot mountains all round about. There are woodlands, a spectacular waterfall into the shallow River Glenbeag and two Pictish brochs to explore, as well as wonderful walks and masses of quiet spots with stunning views to picnic in.
The coast is mainly rugged but at Arnisdale and Sandaig Bay there are sandy/light-shingle beaches and it was at Sandaig Bay that Gavin Maxwell, author of 'Ring of Bright Water', spent 20 years in a lonely cottage on the shore and wrote vividly of his life with the otters and other animals.
The Isle of Skye is very easily accessed by the toll-free bridge and once there you have a whole multitude of museums, restaurants and tourist attractions of all kinds to visit.
