Chomlech means 'home' and guests cannot fail to feel at home in this elegant detached cottage in the scattered crofting community of Kilmuir in the northern tip of Skye. Looking out across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides, the sunsets are spectacular!

It stands in its own large and neatly kept grass garden (with furniture, BBQ and patio), with plenty of parking. But it is the stylish and beautifully furnished interior which will really wow you.

The spacious and comfortable sitting room centres round a multi fuel stove and has an iPod dock, with the dining area in a glazed extension to make the most of the wonderful views. The kitchen is ultra modern with everything you could wish for and there is a utility room. The four bedrooms (one en suite) are all presented with great flair and style and a large family bathroom completes the accommodation.

In short, you can tell that the owners have not only put a great deal of thought into the presentation of the cottage but have also had a huge amount of fun putting it all together for their guests. It is a place to which these lucky guests will look forward to returning after busy days in the open air exploring the beauties of Skye and one which will most certainly enjoy many repeat visits.

Skye is one of the most beloved and iconic of Scottish islands and from Chomlech you can sally forth to enjoy so much of what it has to offer. Down the road is Uig (shop and hotel) where ferries leave for the Outer Isles.

It's a fast road from there down to the 'capital' Portree, or at Borve you can turn right to visit historic Dunvegan Castle, the Coral Beaches or climb the odd, flat-topped hills, MacLeod's Tables. For an even greater challenge, there are, of course, the mighty Cuillins to the south.

If you head north round the top of the island, you'll come to Duntulm Castle and Flodigarry, the home of Flora Macdonald (who aided Bonnie Prince Charlie's escape after Culloden). Further down the coast is Staffin, where dinosaur fossil footprints were found and where you can view the aptly named Kilt Rock in the cliffs. Taking the road 'over the top' from Uig to Staffin via the Quiraing is another unforgettable trip and a walk up to the Old Man of Storr should not be missed.

A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at an additional charge (2 large, 2 medium or 2 small). If you wish to bring any other pets please contact us and we will see what we can do.
