|14-Mar-2019||Garden Apartment, Reswallie House DX3 (overall)||The cottage and surrounding area were stunning. The cottage was beautifully decorated. The lounge boasted cosy wood panelling, an open fire,a lovely view to the garden where you could spot an array of birds including pheasants, robins etc and look out on to the wintery scene. There were great oil paintings and other pictures. The couch was sumptuously comfortable and there were woollen blankets to shroud over. A large selection of many types of books, dvd's and c.d's. There was a lovely panelled floor, lots of lighting and many games and a large dolls house for children. The kitchen was well equipped with dish washer microwave and easy clean cooker. The stone stair case was adorned with portraits and there was yet even more books and children's books upstairs. One bedroom with twin beds was tastefully decorated with toile de jouy wallpaper with lovely windows. The double room that I stayed in was pretty and relaxing for snuggling in and reading a good book.I had a very comfortable bed and an electric blanket was provided. The bathroom was roomy and boasted an 18th century, deep roll top bath which was great to unwind in. There were nice period details including the blue downstairs toilet. The cottage was well thought out and very well equipped. You can help yourself to logs just outside your front door and the smells of them burning on open fires waft through the crisp air as you enjoy a walk in the garden. I was there in winter but there is a greenhouse where you can help yourself to food in the summer, there seems to be a herb garden also and tables and chairs which I imagine would be picturesque in the summer with all the plants, flowers and wildlife. I think there are foxes, otters and other wildlife also to be seen as you go through a gate at the end of the garden where you can freely stroll through the woodland and lake. There are also 6 brown hens in the garden that you are allowed to feed. The owner is colourful, lively and energetic and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable, yet you are afforded great privacy. The cottage is within driving distance to Dundee and Perth and many enjoy visiting the surrounding glens, fishing and many other activities. I enjoyed a blissfully peaceful, tranquil and revitalising holiday in this wintery haven. Would highly recommend.|
