Is a traditional old stone cottage 27 miles north of Dundee on a private country Estate encompassing 6,000 beautiful acres at the top of the very popular (but quiet) Angus Glens - Glen Prosen - beloved by J.M. Barrie of Peter Pan fame, and by Captain Scott who planned his last Antarctic Expedition there. It stands on its own - very secluded, amidst green fields, with a backdrop of high heather-clad hills, and fine views over the glen - and it has been cleverly and attractively renovated internally - pine-panelling and a multi-fuel stove help it to retain its original cosy atmosphere. It is excellent and safe for couples with children, and those who appreciate the outdoor life.
All around there is wonderful walking (try the 'whisky road' used by smugglers thru' Glen Lethnot), bird-watching and climbing (2 Munros); while horse-riding, fishing, and bicycles for hire are available on the Estate. Further afield, there are many golf-courses (such as Carnoustie); castles (such as Glamis); museums (such as Scott's Royal Research Ship 'Discovery' in Dundee); and an interesting coast with sandy beaches for day outings. In the Winter Season there is 'cross-country' skiing; and 'downhill skiing' 25 miles away at Glenshee.
Heating is by multi-fuel stove and electric night-storage heaters. Bed-linen is INCLUDED and towels can be hired. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a lead within the Estate.
