Creich Farmhouse is a traditional Scottish farmhouse on a private country Estate near Cupar (3 miles) and St Andrews (14 miles) in the Kingdom of Fife. It stands apart from the farm buildings and right next to historic Creich Castle, the birthplace of Mary Bethune, one of Mary Queen of Scots' 'four Marys'. Its mature enclosed garden, with swings and sandpit, is ideal for children and pets and is a real sun trap.
Creich provides centrally heated and generous accommodation and is very well furnished, with sun porches to front and rear, sitting room with log fire, dining room and typical farmhouse kitchen and ground floor bathroom/shower and utility room. Upstairs there a further bathroom a total of five bedrooms (one en suite), making it ideal for two families or larger groups.
The Estate itself offers a Woodland Trail (signed), tennis, rough shooting, burn fishing and agate hunting within its own boundaries, and nearby there are numerous golf courses, glorious beaches, and the quaint Fife fishing villages to explore. Dundee, and beyond it the Angus glens, is only 9m away, while the attractive town of Perth, 'the Gateway to the Highlands', with all manner of leisure facilities, is just over half an hour's drive. Nearby, at Falkland (14m), there is the Fife Deer Park and of course Mary Queen of Scots' fairytale palace with its turrets and gardens. Cupar (3m) is a bustling little town with all facilities, and some interesting small shops, and those who feel reluctant to take the car to the city can catch a train there for both Edinburgh and Dundee.
Heating is by oil-CH and open-fire (INCLUDED). The cottage has a telephone. Pets are welcome.
