Drummond Cottage is a truly delightful holiday house in the beautiful Perthshire countryside bordering lovely Loch Tay. It is three miles west of the picturesque conservation village of Kenmore (hotels, shop, cafe.) and 5 miles west of Aberfeldy with its excellent Visitor Information Centre, shops, restaurants, golf and swimming pool. Drummond Cottage is part of the award-winning Comrie Steading designed within the walls of an original 18th century mill-and-farm steading. The conversion of the steadings in the 1990s won the top Scottish Heritage Award for the sympathetic restoration of listed buildings.
Drummond Cottage offers holiday visitors the chance to live for a while in this superb landscape of hills and valleys near Loch Tay and the River Lyon, and enjoy walking or climbing nearby Munros, cycling, golf on a choice of courses, or fishing on the Rivers Tay and Lyon. Water sports and boat hire on Loch Tay are available in Kenmore, where there is also a small lochside beach. While you are there, visit the restored Iron Age crannog in the loch. Water-rafting, canoeing, mountain biking, clay shooting and archery are all available locally. Drummond Cottage is central too for visiting Oban and Fort William, Loch Ness and Inverness, Royal Deeside and Pitlochry with its famous Festival Theatre .
This exceptionally attractive and comfortable cottage has an enclosed garden with furniture. It has countryside views over gorse-covered hills to the rear, a farm with grazing deer to the fore, and the massive bulk of Schiehallion (the Fairy Mountain) beyond. It is double glazed and efficiently heated by total control electricity with a living flame gas stove in the living room for additional comfort and cosiness. There is a shop within 3 miles, and a variety of restaurants within 5 miles.
Electric central-heating is INCLUDED. Bed-linen and towels are INCLUDED. We regret pets are not accepted, and visitors are requested not to smoke within the house.
