This lovely detached house has a wonderful situation on the quiet southern shores of Loch Earn in Perthshire, with fine views across the loch to the hills beyond. It stands in its own large garden, perfect for barbecues and relaxing.
Inside it is very spacious and full of character, with loads of room to spread out. There is a comfortable sitting room with wood-burner, a games room with pool table, a quiet room/study and a large farmhouse dining kitchen. A couple of utility areas and a downstairs cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation.
Upstairs, there are five bedrooms, double, twin and single, providing very versatile accommodation for all sorts of parties, and two bathrooms.
Loch Earn is a favoured spot for sailing, water ski-ing, fishing and picnicking. Round Findoglen it is very quiet, however, and you can walk straight out on to the hills behind. (Parents of young children should be aware that there is a tumbling burn to the side of the house.) The nearest village is St Fillans, where there are three hotels hotel, a shop and a pretty 9-hole golf course where you can also get an excellent snack lunch. There are several other golf courses within 15 miles.
To the east are Comrie and Crieff, both of which have all facilities. For an alternative picnic spot in the hills, turn left in Comrie and head up Glen Lednock to the dam. Just to the east of Crieff, the drive to the north through the Sma' Glen is another scenic route.
To the west, from Lochearnhead, fast roads will take you to the west coast at Oban or to Glencoe and Fort William, to Killin and Loch Tay or to Balquhidder and Stirling. Findoglen really is a very central base for seeing some of the best of Scotland.
Bed linen, electricity and the first £25 of oil central heating are INCLUDED and towels may be hired. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement, but we regret no cats. Smoking is not permitted within the house. Water is from a private spring, which is tested annually.
