In the heart of Strathspey, and perfectly placed both for the mountains and the sea, is Craighead, a lovely, detached, traditional and newly refurbished holiday cottage for two people. With wonderful open views across farmland to the hills behind, it stands in a ½ acre garden (furniture), just off a quiet country road. The owners have lavished much care and attention on the spacious interior, which has polished wood flooring, a wood-burning stove in the cosy sitting room (starter pack of logs INCLUDED, more available for purchase locally) and an extremely well equipped kitchen.
A five minute drive away - and there is a brewery en route! - is Aberlour (shops, restaurant, pubs, hotel) where there are delightful walks along the Spey. You could walk the Speyside Way from the coast to Aviemore or attempt Ben Rinnes, which is half a mile from the cottage. The Whisky Trail is close by, - the legendary Glenfiddich distillery is almost within staggering distance - or you could enjoy a ride on the Keith to Dufftown railway which chugs for 45 minutes through whisky country. The glorious beaches of the Moray coast, with their possibilities for bird and dolphin watching, can be reached within the hour. Golf, riding, and, of course, fishing are all available locally.
Bed linen, oil central heating and the first £10 of electricity are INCLUDED. Towels are available for hire. One well behaved dog is welcome by arrangement.
