What was a humble group of traditional farm buildings has been completely renovated and cleverly amalgamated with a newer tower section to provide spacious accommodation which is as bewitching and full of character as the valley in which it sits.

Standing proudly alone in its own extensive grounds, access is through a rather endearing cobbled courtyard which leads you to a large entrance door, well-suited to a property with such a dramatic presence. Inside the two large reception rooms with their open fires and vaulted ceilings provide plenty of space for guests to relax and dine together and the library is an ideal place for reflection and to enjoy the peace offered by the location.

Also on the ground floor are two large bedrooms, a twin and a double (4 poster bed), both en suite, with a further 2 double bedrooms with en suites in the tower, reached via a traditional stone spiral staircase.

A bothy across the courtyard provides a further double bedroom with en suite. With quirky features throughout it is safe to say that Attinlea's interior is no less delightful than its breathtaking surroundings.

Being just outside Nethy Bridge you don't have to travel far from Attinlea to take advantage of the plethora of activities this popular area provides.

11 miles to the east lies Grantown on Spey (restaurants, shops, golf course and museum) with the famous fishing river, the Spey, running through its heart. From here you are well placed to tour the many distilleries that make up Scotland's renowned malt whisky trail.

Those of an adventurous nature can venture west to the activity hub of Aviemore where there are lots of opportunities for walking, climbing and pony-trekking, sailing and water sports on nearby Loch Morlich, as well as a swimming pool with a wave machine and flumes.

Wildlife enthusiasts will love the abundance of opportunities in the area, with three RSPB reserves close by and the Highland Wildlife Park where both native species (such as the elusive Scottish wildcat) and more exotic animals can be seen. In the winter months the Cairngorms Ski Resort provides 22 runs at all different levels on one of Scotland's highest mountains, there's even a sledging park for kids - or those adults who don't fancy the skiing!

Being only 17 miles from the main A9 Perth to Inverness road, you are well placed to discover the wider area including Inverness, the 'Capital of the Highlands', or Fort George (where you may be lucky enough to spot the dolphins) and the golden beaches of the Moray coast. However, you could not be blamed for not wishing to tear yourself away from the captivating landscape and solitude that is right on your doorstep at Attinlea.
