Peediequoy is Orcadian (makes a change from Gaelic!) for 'little field' and this trim and immaculate detached house now stands on the field where the owner's daughter used to keep her pony.  It has a truly ideal situation just a mile or so from the famous Tore roundabout, (look out for red kites!) about 7 miles north of Inverness, from which excellent roads bear you off in all directions to Skye, Ullapool, John o'Groats, the Black Isle or Loch Ness.

The house itself is as excellent as its location, spacious, comfortable and superbly equipped, standing in a neat grass garden with ample off road parking, secure storage for bikes etc, patio area (furniture) and barbecue and with superb views across the fields to the Beauly Firth.  The downstairs accommodation comprises sitting room, separate dining room with french doors to the garden, well fitted kitchen and shower room, while upstairs are three bedrooms and a further bathroom.  You would be hard put to find a better appointed holiday home.

The nearest shops are at Muir of Ord (3m).  Oh, and another example of Peediequoy's perfection - you are equidistant from the distillery at Muir of Ord and the Black Isle Brewery - do not go home without taking a case or two of their splendid brew!

Peediequoy is actually on the Black Isle, the peninsula between the Cromarty and Dornoch Firths.  Here you will find quaint villages, (Cromarty in particular is quite lovely) sandy beaches and, of course, the prime dolphin watching site in Europe at Chanonry Point.  For major shopping and all entertainments, Inverness is within a 10 minute drive.  It's a city with a real buzz, great facilities and excellent eating places and from there you can explore along the Moray coast, or even dip into the central Highlands, Aviemore and the Cairngorms.

An hour's drive will also bring you to the mountains of Torridon and the west coast, so pack your boots.  Walking, climbing, riding, golf, fishing, sailing, all activities are well catered for round Peediequoy.

Bed linen, towels, oil central heating and electricity are all INCLUDED in the rental.  Sorry, pets are not accepted and smoking is not permitted in the cottage.

Buckle Party, From Cheshire 01/05/2010

Thanks Diane & Ian for the lovely welcome and the use of this fantastic house we have been so comfy, we love the area, so much to see and do. The Black Isle wildlife park was great but the thing which was best of all were the dolphins - go half an hour before high tight at Chanonry Point.

The Doble's, From Wales 15/05/2010

Thank you for a warm welcome, the house is in a fantastic location and is very homely. We have really enjoyed our week touring the Highlands and has been great coming back to the house at night. Hope to see you again.

Mr Turner Jones & Family, From Shropshire 14/08/2010

What a lovely comfortable house, we've seen dolphins at Chanonry Point, Salmon leap at Falls of Shin and Ospreys at Loch Insh.

McManus party, Surrey 02/06/2011

The cottage surpassed our expectations. Everything was there - washing up liquid, loo rolls, tea towels.... You don't usually find those at holiday cottages. As we had travelled by train from London and had limited luggage, this was ideal. The house was immaculate, the owners couldn't have been more helpful and the view was lovely. Really enjoyed it and wished we could have had more than 4 nights.

Gettings party, Lancashire 11/06/2011
